What is the "proper" way to search with 6.0.2?
Here is what I do and not sure if its the "correct" way since it sometimes produces a crash...
Type in song in search, double click on song below to load in a deck then click on the search box to clear the field.
Is this the correct way to search and clear the search box? If not, what is the correct way?

How do you clear the search field? Do you backspace through, click on the space below the search box then back into the search box, click on a favorite folder, etc ?
I tend to like to keep my search box empty so I can see the songs listed in the selected favorite folder but in the past sometimes when I click on the search box to clear it is when the crash occurs.
I DID hose my laptop and start over with a clean install of XP SP3, 6.0.2 and a fresh new database (took 36 hours to analyze files!) and I did not have any issues on a 3 hour gig. I was expecting the search crash but it didn't happen. I even had Trend Micro auto-protecting! I will, once again, put the system through its paces next Saturday, or earlier if I'm lucky.

i do both, either double click to clear or just back space if it is a small text search

that's what I used to do in 5.2.1. Wait...isn't that what you're still using or have you done the same type searching with v6?

got it on desktop, still trying to pick up the confidence to put it onto the gig lappy, never had a problem with the search it was the random shutdowns that was the problem i had.

Hey JayMSY,
try this one.
Create a Keyboard shortcut with and write exact search '' & search into the action field.
'' = 2x semicolon ;-)
Now, when you press your "SEARCH" Keybord Button, VDJ jumps into the searchbar and delete all the content.
But it works only when you are not in the searchbar!
If you are still in the seachbar, it doesn't work ;-) and you must use backspace to delete the unwanted letters.
I use this function always for serach and load then with the load button on my controller, the needed track into the deck.
But you can also use your mouse(doubleklick) or create another keyboard shortcut for Deckload.
I hope it helps!

Haui means 2 times accent, not semicolon ;-)

Are any of you seeing a delay in search returns while typing in the text?

fine for me.

No lag for me with the shuttle system (internal drives)
Laptop does lag quite a bit, but nothing to hinder the operation.
Still using 5.02 on both systems.

I am lost on both of this? Right now I have a keyboard shortcut for Ctrl+S which will place the cursor in the search box. What does the keyboard shortcut above do and what IS the exact action of the shortcut?

The shortcut will first clear the search field and the jums to it.

Hey i just wanted to ask what happen to seeing the video image, of the video stream. It was available in version 6.01 pro. It was helpful in determining if it was the actual video or just a video montage of the artist and album cover as well as being helpful in determining if was the actual video or something that was wrong all together. If the net search search developers can reimplementing the video image covers in net search i would appreciate it.

@macavelli, there are other threads going on for netsearch, if you can't see what your after post your own thread, you'll get a better response that way.

search '' & search is a great trick how to clear the search field and then jumps to it, but is is working only with 6.02 and older. Not in 6.03! In VDJ 6.03 is shortcut entered in the search field as a first letter. What now? Can you help me? I need this functionality like before....

Use a key in combination with the <CTRL> key - because these combinations will befiltered internal by VDJ.
