don't waste your money on those tables, $200 is a good price for that gear see if you can make an offer, but still they will cause more frustration then they are worth, because they will never hold their speed when mixing, and forget about scratching unless you have a really light touch.

go for stanton 150 or 120, american audio hd 4.5, numark tt500, numark ttx, vestax pdx2000, they are all decent and should be cheap on ebay. I have the american audios, they are amazing for scratching and good at mixing, they are no technics 1200 but they are decent enough

I'm struggling to find any of those models under $400 -$500 a piece. I can't justify throwing a grand at something I've never touched. I really appreciate the advice...not sure what my plan is now.... Thanks again.

The Numark TT-200's aren't bad and you can get brand new for about 200 bucks. Check em out.

Funny you should mention those. I was just looking at them and they seem to get good reviews for that price point. Any suggestions on a budget mixer?

Heres this one by American Audio, American Audio DV2

And it has the soundcard built in. I havent used one myself but it seems pretty good for a guy just starting out.
Also I have one of these, Behringer VMX-300

Its 3 channels which is good so you can always have a backup plugged in. I still have it as a matter of fact. Youll need a soundcard for this though. Either one would be good for a guy on a budget.

Hope that helps

Huey, thanks for the replies. You seem to know your stuff. Ok i think this is what i'm ordering

Numark tt-200
Umix 44 (i believe it has built in preamp). Setup any different as opposed to the maya44?

I will wait on the mixer and use my mixtrack pro for now.

I've never used one of those but from the pictures it'll hookup the same way. Go up a couple of post and set it up like I described and you should be good. If not you know where to find me, lol!!

I was thinking......(usually a bad idea).

I ended up with a Numark M4 mixer(3 channel). Coming soon the external sound card and turntables.

I am struggling now with how to use these together. Originally i planned on using the mixtrack as the mixer and just adding turntables. Essentially replacing the use of the mixtrack turntables with real ones. In my opinion the mixtrack X-fader leaves something to be desired so I added a seperate mixer(Numark M4).

Any suggestions from the veterans on how to mesh the mixtrack pro together with the soon to come turntables? Keep the mixtrack fully functional on 2 decks and use the real turntables on 2 other decks (is that possible)? Just looking for suggestions to get the most out of what i have. Many thanks.

So I ended up getting the 3 channel mixer. Should I just run the mixytrack pro through the 3rd channel on the mixer or is there another way to hook it up via umix44 and turntables. Thanks in advance

Can anyone help me choose my first set of powered speakers? I'm currently running my mixtrack pro with my laptop and a very small set of powered speakers.

@platddy, replace the Maya with your new soundcard,

Ok try this,

Run your turntables into 1/2 & 3/4 on the Maya 44.
Now open the advanced config and set it up like this,

Timecode 1 - Maya 44 - Input 1/2
Timecode 2 - Maya 44 - Input 3/4
Master - Mixtrack Pro - Output 1/2
Headphones - Mixtrack Pro - Output 3/4

I've never used a Pro but that seems like it should work out. Try it and let me know.
