Yes they can be mapped to show that as well.
Change the action of the VU METER key from get_level to the following..
device_side 'left' ? deck master get_vu_meter 'left' : deck master get_vu_meter 'right'
or if you want both and toggle based on some variable, you can map a keyboard/controller button as .. toggle '$vuvar' and then map the VU METER key as..
var '$vuvar' ? device_side 'left' ? deck master get_vu_meter 'left' : deck master get_vu_meter 'right' : get_level

The MC3000 is fully functional with VDJ 8.1 using videos such as Uptown Funk.avi xvid, and that is with a basic laptop only just meeting the minimum requirements of VDJ.. I would add that I will upgrade to the MC4000 in the future.
How did Beatbreaker become The Sound Insurgent (nice name!)?
I'm under the understanding our names are fixed, no matter how badly chosen.

A quick correction, recommended and not minimum Vdj requirements.
To ease the load on your graphics card it can be beneficial to use mono colored waves.
Optimization also increases system stability although I don't find it essential.

assign the ONINIT key as ..
deck 1 pfl off
but not sure why you want to have that. Isnt the left deck the first one you will prelisten when start mixing ?

Got it, thanks. Don't really need headphones on for doing karaoke.

Has anyone run into the problem in 8.2 where Deck 1 skips thru the entire song. Any reason why?
Also, I am having the problem where FX 2-3 only change what FX1 is.... is there anyway to get them to act as 3 separate FX buttons, assigning a different FX to each?
Thanks in advance!

Read how the Effects work in the manual
http://www.virtualdj.com/documents/Denon%20MC4000%20-%20VirtualDJ%208%20Operation%20Guide.pdf
(page 11)
There is a Multi Effects mode which you can select in order to control 3 different Effects at the same time.
Could you please explain what do you mean by "skips thru" ?
Track jumps at a random position without doing anything at all on your controller ?
