Lmmfao! That's like the weakest i7 on the market!!
Try comparing your i3 mentioned above with Intel Core i7-6700HQ @ 2.60GHz
As you'll see the i3 is weaker........
Come Ron, I know you think I'm a total retard but you are wrong. And I don't care what Wikipedia says........

I have compared the most powerful i3 to the weakest i7.
However in between there are lots of closer wins for the i3.
Not all i7's are equal.
People tend to say "I've got an i7" but its specs are critical.
I think there maybe some good buys to be had on the cheap.
This benchmark website can help us find good laptops.

Ok now we're getting somewhere, I agree 100% with you that NOT all i7's are created equal.

Here we go round and round. I don't get into all that bench work info. I am not comparing a high end i3 to a low end i7, because that would be like comparing..........wait for it................here it comes...............apples to pucking oranges. If that works for you, go ahead but history has already done that comparison, and decided it was not a wise move. The i3 is not even in consideration to me, and don't see the need for comparison. I am looking at the new i7 kaby lake chips, because the people that do this kind of stuff for a living, say they are superior to the sky lake chips. Even if I don't go with the new chip, I will still go with the chip that gives me the most bang for my buck, and a i3 is not on that list. My ROG does not know what heat is, as it has never seen it due to it's cooling system. I do not want to just get by, I need to excel and do it with some peace of mind which is crucial to my performance. Who brings a studio monitor to a gig for 100 people? If everybody is speechless they will hear the music, but you will not be pumping the party. Cutting corners works for some people on some things, but some of us are willing and able to pay for that peace of mind.

Seems they just get faster and more affordable. 5 years ago this was unimaginable. Looks like a pretty good lappy, or a darn good start: http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8174-clevo-p650rp6.html
